I’m in love with the butterflies and the contrast against the baby blue. When it comes to manicure ideas, ombre nails have become one of the most popular beauty trends in recent years. OverallĪfter spending 20minutes convincing myself to change my design idea, I’m really glad that I created butterfly nail art. Afterwhich, using tweezers I carefully placed down each usable image onto my nail. I then applied the clear top coat and allowed the decals to dry. Off the blue butterflies, only 1 was usable but at least the green ones worked out ok. So I stopped and made the remaining butterflies green using OPI, My Dogsled is a Hybrid. I realised halfway through that the blue I selected would be too dark to see the black stamping polish. ![]() For the blue, I used My Favourite Gal Pal by OPI. Then using my dotting tool I filled in the wing. If one or two of the decals failed I would just leave some of my nails bare. I decided to take a risk by not creating extras. Using the reverse stamping technique I added 10 images from maniology plate BM-718 to my stamping mat using a black stamping polish (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% Maniology). Two coats were required for full opacity. Because it’s so light this shade would allow me to use most colours for the butterfly wings.Īs with most OPI polishes Dreams need Clara-fication, went on smoothly and dried quite quickly. ![]() This is a beautiful baby blue that paired well with the butterflies. ![]() I started this design with what is now my favourite blue, Dreams need Clara-fication by OPI. ![]() Thanks for your support! The Base – Dreams need Clara-fication It won’t cost you anything extra but will give me a small bonus. Eventually, I changed my design to create Butterfly Nail Art. After looking through my plates to try and work out how I would complete the design I kept getting fixated on the butterfly plate. In my head I wanted this week’s design to have a floral theme.
