For the snakes in both his normal phases, it's always safe to hang out in the opposite corner, they don't reach that far. Hit him twice as soon as he appears, then 2-3 times in between the two X/+s. Phase 1 (100 - 75%HP): He moves to a corner, summons a "snake", then either an X or + shaped set of squares on your location, and then another one. All of his magic square attacks are instant kills, so you really have to learn how to dodge them. Last module is on the path to the boss, hidden passage in a room where you have to kill all enemies to proceed.īoss: This guy is by far the hardest fight in NG+. Take the lower of the two elevators on the left side, get the first of the two modules in it. Second module just up to the right after teleporter. You can use this map as reference for where the modules are:įirst module you come across on the invisible path on the left, easy free one. Here's what my route through the game looked like. Most of the time you won't have a chance to heal since you die so easily, but when fighting weaker enemies, more healing really comes in handy. That said, I highly recommend getting enough gearbits to upgrade the ammo capacity for whatever your main gun is (I prefer the standard pistol) and buying the healing upgrades. Since you only have to beat the game and you start with most upgrades, you'll want to ignore everything except the bare minimum required for completion 4 module pieces per area, and raising all the pillars. That may sound horrible at first, but most of the game is really still quite manageable even under these dire circumstances. This means that any damage will put you into critical health, and many enemies can outright instakill you. What makes NG+ hard, however, is that you only have a maximum of 2 hit points. The only things you won't have are weapons, bombs and healing upgrades, but all those can be bought from the stores as usual. In this mode, you skip the tutorial and start with all abilities. It doesn't matter if you overwrite an old save or make a new one. After this, the Vulture itself will charge along the path of their shadow.New Game + is unlocked after beating the game once, and can be accessed from the main menu. They can actually be somewhat telegraphed, as their shadow will go across the ground and off the screen. It loosely orbits around the player and charges at them periodically. The Vulture then flies away.Ī normal flying Vulture, but very, very fast. The Vulture will carry the Dirk around, eventually dropping the Dirk so it can attack the player. Not a unique enemy per se, but rather a combination of a Dirk and a Vulture. If the player is in their line of sight, a black line will show up indicating that they're aiming at you, and after a couple seconds will fire a single ball of energy if they're locked on long enough. It seems to very loosely resemble the Bladebot enemy without any limbs. Its only attack is charging at the player, going at a curve if it misses.ĭrones that are indeed hostile. Partial (Only death animation has proper graphics)Īn enemy that, based on its death animation (the only time its graphics can be properly seen), seems to be a ball of green material carried around by four or five spindly legs. The dogs will roam around and charge at the player if they get too close. Partial (Walking, Dying animations unfinshed) Their attack is also different, throwing a jar that will send a stream of five pillars towards the player in whichever direction it was thrown. Their behavior is quite different however, confronting the player a lot more aggressively than the Bomber Toads. Like the wolves, their graphics are also incomplete and they always face right. No (recycled from Bomber Toads and/or broken)Įnemies whose silhouettes look identical to the Bomber Toads. They're fairly incomplete as they have no proper graphics and always face right until killed. What seem to be giant versions of the crystal wolves. No (recycled from crystal wolf and/or broken) Giant floating green crystals that slowly turn more and more purple until eventually exploding, unleashing a number of crystal spiders if not destroyed quickly. Note that none of these names are official, and are taken from the video in this section or the HLD Wiki. They can be put on any map by simply editing the maps in a text editor and placing spawners for them. There are a number of unused enemies that can be found within the game's files. Don't really know how to describe the "enemies" at 4:50 also. Specifically: Both this section and the maps section should have someone who actually knows something about the game look into all of this deeper. Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
